The family of Alan Geddes, who was brutally murdered by Stuart Quinn shortly after his release from prison, is pursuing legal action against the Scottish government and other authorities. An official report from the Mental Welfare Commission (MWC) highlighted failures in the handling of Mr Quinn’s release, suggesting that a lack of support and accommodation contributed to the tragedy. The MWC report noted that if aspects of Quinn’s NHS mental health care had been addressed, it could have mitigated the risks.
