Reform the Human Rights Act now – Lord Howard

Lord Howard has called for reforms to the Human Rights Act, stating it has led to a “vivid transfer of power” from Parliament to the courts, undermining UK laws. His comments accompany a report from Policy Exchange, which highlights 25 cases that have compromised victims’ rights and hindered government actions. Notable examples include a ruling that prevented police from reviewing a convicted paedophile’s internet use and a Supreme Court decision blocking the deportation of a violent criminal due to health service inadequacies in Zimbabwe. Howard emphasised the need for reform, stating: “It is past time for Parliament to take seriously its responsibilities and to restore the constitution.” The report was authored by Richard Ekins, KC, Sir Stephen Laws, KC, and Dr Conor Casey.

Heard about jilicrown22 from a buddy. It’s not the flashiest site, but it’s reliable. Good for low-stakes fun, might want to look elsewhere if you want to gamble big.
