Peter Mandelson has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office linked to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The Metropolitan Police are investigating allegations that the former UK ambassador to the US leaked sensitive information to Epstein during his tenure as Business Secretary. Mr Mandelson has denied any wrongdoing. Lord Mandelson’s arrest came four days after Thames Valley Police arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of the same crime, in an unrelated investigation, amid claims that he leaked information to Mr Epstein while working as a government trade envoy.
